NEWMEN is expanding its gravel range with the new STREEM G.48. This versatile carbon wheelset combines modern rim dimensions with low weight, comfort and stability. The G.48 is designed for a wide variety of gravel rides, from long-distance adventures to fast-paced races. In addition, NEWMEN has announced that its gravel wheels will soon be available in three sizes: 28", 30.5" and 32". Under the motto 'The right size for everyone', there will be a suitable wheel size for every gravel rider.

Modern Dimensions for Versatile Performance

While wide rim profiles are often associated with aerodynamic, race-focused wheelsets, NEWMEN is now bringing these modern dimensions to a true all-rounder. The STREEM G.48 features an internal rim width of 27 mm and an external width of 45 mm, matching the previously introduced STREEM G.62.

The key difference lies in the rim depth. With a 48 mm profile, the G.48 has a shallower rim and lower weight than the race-focused G.62, which features a 62 mm rim depth. This makes the new wheelset an ideal choice for gravel riders looking for versatility, from everyday training rides and extended bikepacking trips to gravel races.

Comfort and Stability on Gravel

The 27 mm internal rim width provides sufficient lateral support for modern gravel tyres, even at lower tyre pressures. This contributes to greater comfort and control on unpaved surfaces.

The G.48 also features a distinctive rounded rim profile. This shape helps absorb small, rapid impacts on rough gravel while reducing sensitivity to crosswinds. As a result, the wheelset remains stable and predictable, even during fast gravel rides. Like all NEWMEN road and gravel wheels, the STREEM G.48 features a hooked rim profile and is tubeless ready.

Two versions, Entirely Hand-Built

The STREEM G.48 is available in two versions. The STREEM G.48 Carbon Spoke features 21 VONOA carbon spokes and weighs just 1,400 grams per set, making it 130 grams lighter than the STREEM G.62 CS. A Steel Spoke version, featuring 24 Sapim CX-Ray steel spokes, will also be available, weighing 1,550 grams per set.

Both versions come supplied with the NEWMEN Aero Valve System and tubeless sealant. According to NEWMEN, the aerodynamic valve system saves approximately 0.5 watts while giving the wheels a distinctive, clean appearance.

All NEWMEN STREEM wheels are built entirely by hand. Carbon spoke versions are assembled in Kempten, in Germany's Allgäu region, while steel spoke wheelsets are built at NEWMEN's own production facility in the Czech Republic.

Three Wheel Sizes: 28", 30.5" and 32"

With the STREEM series, NEWMEN is also looking ahead to the development of larger wheel sizes in gravel cycling. Both the STREEM G.48 and STREEM G.62 will be available in 28", 30.5" and 32" in the future.

The introduction of 30.5" is particularly noteworthy, as this wheel size is still relatively unfamiliar within the gravel segment. With this expansion, NEWMEN is responding to the growing interest in larger wheel sizes and offering riders more choice across its gravel range.
