The mission was clear: a gravel wheel designed with uncompromising aerodynamics, perfectly tuned for modern gravel tires. The new Streem G.62 by NEWMEN opens a whole new chapter in gravel racing. With a rim depth of 62 mm, an outer width of 45 mm, and an inner width of 27 mm, NEWMEN has hit the sweet spot for today’s 45–50 mm tires.
The wide inner width allows modern tires to be ridden at optimal air pressure, meaning: more grip, more comfort, and faster rolling performance. The combination of outer width, rim depth and tire ensures optimal aerodynamics, all perfectly coordinated and tested in the wind tunnel.
Weighing just 1,530 g per set, the Streem G.62 CS wheels are among the lightest in their class. The Streem G.62 CS will be the first wheels in NEWMEN's portfolio to also be available with silver decals.
With a taller rim height of 62 millimeters and an impressive rim width of 45 millimeters, the new Streem G.62 wheels push the limits without compromising on weight. Why? Because modern gravel races are getting faster and faster, and with average speeds approaching 40 km/h, they place very specific demands on aerodynamics.
Through extensive wind tunnel testing, NEWMEN is able to maximize the efficiency of the new Streem G.62 wheels at high speeds while leveraging the full potential of the proven Streem Road wheels. The result is a gravel wheel that, even with a 50-millimeter-wide tire, matches the performance of the best aero road wheels in the wind tunnel.
To perform well in the wind tunnel, the tire should not be wider than the rim. With an outer width of 45 millimeters, the G.62 rim meets the requirements of modern gravel tires. Air flows over the tire and can re-establish contact with the rim edge.
To prevent the tire from becoming excessively wide and ultimately protruding beyond the rim on both sides, the rim’s internal width must not be too large. With a sweet spot of 27 millimeters, NEWMEN was able to meet both aerodynamic requirements and the demands of the riding experience. 27 millimeters provide sufficient lateral support at low tire pressures and allow the tire sidewalls to flex comfortably. With rims that have a larger inner width, comfort suffers increasingly because the sidewalls of the gravel tires stand too straight and flex noticeably less.
At the same time, the Streem G.62 wheels are not only noticeably fast but, thanks to their high width and sophisticated rim shape, remain more controllable than the competition with lower rim heights, even in strong crosswinds.
Sounds too good to be true? NEWMEN thought so too, but not only wind tunnel testing but also real-world experience at the Final Frontier in Patagonia proved the crosswind stability of the G.62.
Like all NEWMEN's road and gravel wheels, the G.62 rims feature a rim flange with a hook. This ensures safety even at high tire pressures and effectively prevents the tire from coming off. Riders who prefer a more comfortable ride and let the tires do the work will benefit from the rim’s robust construction with an extra-wide flange.
With an impact resistance of over 12.36 joules, the new gravel rim even meets NEWMEN's cross-country requirements for mountain bikes, up to a system weight of 130 kilograms. The rear wheel features their well-known Fade R hub with three pawls, which is also approved for e-drives with up to 60 Newton-meters of torque.
If you want to go all out when it comes to weight and performance, the Streem G.62 CS with carbon spokes is your lightest option. With 21 VONOA Aero Wide Carbon spokes on both the front and rear wheels, the wheelset weighs just 1,530 grams. Thanks to the lower weight and extremely high tensile strength of the carbon spokes, both the front and rear wheels require only 21 spokes.
Even with the Streem G.62 steel-spoke version, the weight remains at just 1,600 grams, and the price is reduced by an attractive 300 euros per set. For optimal stiffness during hard accelerations, 24 Sapim CX Ray spokes on both the front and rear wheels ensure stability and long-lasting durability.

NEWMEN is a German manufacturer of high-quality bicycle components based in the Allgäu region. Founded in 2016, the company has quickly established itself as a major player in the international bicycle industry. Today, its product portfolio includes a wide range of components, including wheels, handlebars, stems, pedals, and cranksets, for mountain bikes, gravel bikes, road bikes, and children’s bikes.
The focus is on the development and manufacture of modern, lightweight, and durable components. NEWMEN relies on a high degree of production depth and quality control. All wheels with carbon spokes are assembled entirely by hand in the Allgäu region. Wheels with steel spokes are produced at the company’s factory in the Czech Republic. With a capacity of up to 450,000 wheels per year, NEWMEN is one of the most high-performing and reliable manufacturers in the European market.
All components are put through their paces in the company’s in-house testing lab. NEWMEN not only has its own test benches but has also developed testing standards that far exceed legal requirements.
All components are developed at the Wiggensbach facility. The interdisciplinary team, now consisting of 150 employees, is closely connected to the world of cycling. Many of them are active cyclists themselves, which is directly reflected in the practicality and functionality of the products. The company is fully independent and owner-managed. This independence enables quick decision-making, long-term thinking, and consistently product-oriented action, with a clear focus on quality, innovation, and performance.
