NEWMEN’s journey from OEM specialist to strong independent brand

German precision, independent thinking and an impressive in-house test lab, that’s what makes NEWMEN ready to win over the aftermarket. For years, NEWMEN was known as the silent force behind the scenes: a reliable OEM partner, developing high-end wheels and components for some of the biggest names in the cycling industry. Now, with a production capacity of 400,000 wheels per year, its own testing facility that sets standards well beyond industry requirements and a fully independent brand identity, NEWMEN is taking a bold step into the aftermarket.

NEWMEN was founded in 2016 by Michi Grätz. Just a year later, the first products hit the market and growth followed quickly. In 2021, the team moved into a brand-new 1,200-square-metre production and development facility. By 2024, the company had grown to 98 employees. Today, NEWMEN offers a wide range of components: wheels, handlebars, stems, pedals and cranks for mountain, gravel and road bikes.

All components are developed in-house in Germany, right in the heart of the Allgäu region. Wheels with carbon spokes are fully hand-built at the company’s headquarters, while those with steel spokes are assembled at NEWMEN’s dedicated facility in the Czech Republic.

Every product undergoes extensive testing in NEWMEN’s own laboratory. Not only has the company developed its own test rigs, it also works with internal standards that go far beyond legal requirements. The result: lightweight, durable and intelligent components, tested under real-world conditions. Many team members are passionate cyclists themselves, which means practical performance is always part of the equation.

NEWMEN is entirely independent and founder-owned. That autonomy allows for fast decision-making, long-term thinking and an uncompromising, product-driven approach with quality, innovation and performance at the core.
